MEET YOUR THERAPIST

Sophie Henderson

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Sophie is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in the process of completing her Master’s in Counselling Psychology at City University of Seattle. Sophie’s approach is collaborative, empathetic, and tailored to the client’s individual needs. She strives to create a judgment-free, neuro-affirming, and compassionate space where clients can express themselves freely. She is trauma-informed and trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which supports clients with performance issues and interpersonal trauma.

Sophie uses a strength-based approach that integrates principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS). Sophie aims to meet clients where they are that day, approaching present issues with empathy and curiosity and allowing the client to be the expert in their story.

Sophie has experience working with children and adolescents who are both neurodiverse and neurotypical. She has completed additional training in supporting individuals with ADHD and is committed to continuing education and deepening her skills to best support her clients.

Sophie supports clients with a range of presenting concerns, such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma, and challenges related to ADHD. She is committed to creating an affirming safe space for 2SLGBTQ+ individuals and strives to meet clients wherever they are in their process of self-discovery.

Sophie is currently practicing under the supervision of Christa McParlan and is currently accepting clients over 12 years, including adolescents and adults.
