EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a structured, research-supported therapy that helps the brain and body process traumatic, distressing or difficult experiences.
EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, which may include eye movements, sounds or tapping, to support the brain’s natural processing and healing of experiences that continue to cause distress.
EMDR follows a structured series of phases, with the amount of time spent in each phase depending on the individual and what they’re working through.
At CLM, Mariah or Sophie will guide you through the process, discuss your goals and determine which EMDR protocol is best suited to your needs. Standard EMDR sessions are typically 1.5 hours, with 3-hour part-day intensive sessions available depending on the target being addressed.
