Cydney Worsfold

Registered Psychotherapist
RP

Cydney is a Registered Psychotherapist – who utilizes an integrated, person-centred approach with her clients, recognizing that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all and must be tailored to the specific needs of every one of her clients. She encourages the development of trust, collaboration, and respect through a non-judgement and down-to-earth approach, meeting her clients where they are at, to create a safe and inclusive environment.

Cydney supports teens and adults of all ages in navigating challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, and relationship difficulties, through a trauma-informed lens while drawing from evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Cydney holds accreditation in DBT from APT Canada with a special focus on trauma and how it can create a profound impact on an individual’s mind, body and relationships. Cydney firmly believes that with the proper support, it is possible to grow and heal from trauma, no matter how long ago the trauma may have occurred.

Cydney has a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Brock University with a specific focus on neuroplasticity and neuroscience, allowing her to have a greater understanding of how our mental health and trauma impacts the biology and functioning of our brain.

Cydney’s training in the Developmental Model and Gottman Method has deepened the way she supports couples, helping her create a space where partners can better understand one another’s experiences, reconnect, and build stronger, more meaningful relationships. Cydney also specializes in working with neurodiverse individuals drawing on both CBT and person-centred approaches to address executive dysfunction and harmful views of self in a way that highlights the persons strengths, individuality and ways in which they experience and navigate the world
