Psychotherapist RP, EMDR Certified

Mariah Soper

Mariah is a Registered Psychotherapist who provides a person-centred approach grounded in the development of a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, safety, and collaboration. She believes that meaningful change occurs when individuals feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported within the therapeutic space.

Mariah is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy designed to help individuals process distressing experiences and trauma. EMDR supports the brain’s natural ability to heal by facilitating the reprocessing of difficult memories and reducing the emotional distress associated with them.

Mariah brings a unique perspective to her work through a deep appreciation for creativity, art, and self-expression. She integrates these elements when working with youth, teens, and adults navigating challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, and overall mental health and well-being.

She also has experience supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and autism, and works from a neurodiversity-affirming framework that respects and values different ways of thinking, feeling, and experiencing the world. Mariah strives to create an inclusive and supportive environment where clients can explore their strengths, build self-understanding, and develop tools that work for their unique needs.

Having worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, Mariah approaches therapy with a holistic perspective that considers the whole person within the context of their life, relationships, and environment. Compassion, curiosity, and understanding are central to her therapeutic framework, guiding both her professional practice and her approach to life.
